At the end of the academic year, students are able to:
- Analyse and address the determinants of health problems from a population perspective.
- Propose, plan, implement and evaluate culturally appropriate, evidence-based policies and interventions for the effective improvement of population health in international, national and local contexts.
- Analyse and to interpret health data and to understand the distribution of major determinants of health in populations.
- Critically assess factors that influence the health of populations and the practice of public health.
- Identify ways in which changes in social structures, environmental conditions and people’s behaviours may promote the health of populations.
- Effectively contribute to the management of health services, according to the societal values in place.
- Devise interventions for a healthier and safer society by applying ethical principles to resolve dilemmas arising in public health policy and practice.
- Explore the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Healthcare.
- Advocate for political, social or economic policies and programs that will improve health in diverse populations.
- Apply appropriate research methods (quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods) to assess health systems outcomes of interest of a policy, program, or intervention.
- Apply concepts and principles of management and finance to the operation of health systems.
