Europubhealth+ is a two-year full time multidisciplinary programme open to graduate students from any country in the world holding at least a university Bachelor degree (180 ECTS) or certified equivalent, from any academic disciplines.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds including health-related disciplines (medicine, pharmacy, biology, nursing,…), social sciences (sociology, economics, psychology, anthropology, geography, law, political sciences…) or business administration.
Prospective students should be aware that core public health disciplines include biostatistics, epidemiology, health policy and management, health economics, social and behavioural sciences, ethics, and environmental health sciences. Some of those disciplines require a sufficient level of numeracy in order to successfully complete the 2-year programme.
To be eligible, applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

- Holding at least a university Bachelor degree (180 ECTS) or certified equivalent. A copy of your last degree is required at application stage or at the latest before the beginning of the course if you are currently finishing your Bachelor studies.
- Being proficient in the languages suitable for the chosen study pathway: English; English+Spanish; English+French; or Spanish+English+French. Mandatory copies of language proficiency tests meeting the minimum admission requirements – as described below – must be provided when applying.
- Submitting a complete online application, together with all mandatory documents required (eg. diplomas, certificates, language certificates, letters of recommendation, etc.) before the indicated deadline.
Language requirements for 2025 intake
Please note that applications not meeting these languages requirements will not be considered.
ENGLISH
Please note that the types of tests listed below and corresponding minimum scores are the only acceptable documents to be provided as language proficiency proof. These requirements have been jointly set by the Europubhealth+ consortium and no exceptions can be made.
English language requirements for students who follow the 1st year foundation course in Dublin or Sheffield + any 2nd year specialisation
- IELTS Academic or IELTS Indicator or IELTS Online: overall band score of 6.5 or above, with no less 6.0 in each component.
- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: overall score of 90 or above, with no less than 22 in each component.
- PTE Academic: 63 or above overall, with no less than 59 in each component.
- Cambridge Advanced or Proficiency Certificate: overall score of 180 or above with no less than 175 in each component.
The date of the test must be less than 2 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 29th September 2023 – the date taken into account is the date of the test, not the date of receipt of the results).
English language requirements for students who follow the 1st year foundation course in Liège (course in French) or Granada (course in Spanish) + 2nd year specialisation in Maastricht, Krakow, Bordeaux or Advanced Epidemiology and Biostatistics or Health and Environment in a context of climate change in Rennes
- IELTS Academic or IELTS Indicator or IELTS Online: overall band score of 6.0 or above, with no less than 6.0 in each component.
- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: overall score of 80 or above, with no less than 20 in each component.
- PTE Academic: 53 or above overall, with no less than 50 in each component.
- Cambridge Advanced or Proficiency Certificate: overall score of 169 or above, with no less than 165 in each component.
The date of the test must be less than 3 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 1st September 2022 – the date taken into account is the date of the test, not the date of receipt of the results).
English language requirements for students who follow the 1st year foundation course in Liège (course in French) or Granada (course in Spanish)+ the 2nd year specialisation in Health Promotion in Rennes (course in French) or Granada (course in Spanish)
- IELTS Academic or IELTS Indicator or IELTS Online: overall band score of 5.5 or above, with no less than 5.0 in each component.
- TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: overall score of 60 or above, with no less than 15 in each component.
- PTE Academic: 51 or above overall, with no less than 41 in each component.
- Cambridge Advanced or Proficiency Certificate: overall score of 162 or above, with no less than 140 in each component.
- Duolingo: DET score of 95 with a minimum of 85 in each sub score.
The date of the test must be less than 3 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 1st September 2022 – the date taken into account is the date of the test, not the date of receipt of the results).
Candidates exempted from providing an English test
Applicants do not have to provide any English language test in the following cases:
- If they are citizens of one of the countries listed here: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada*, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States of America (but can be asked to prove their level in English).
(*1) Specific condition for Canada: Applicants may provide a Canadian degree so long as they supply sufficient proof from the institution that the degree was taught and examined in English.
- If they hold a previous higher education degree fully taught in English(*) in one of the countries listed above or in Malta (but can be asked to prove their level in English)
(*2) If they selected the University of Sheffield or University College Dublin for the first year of studies, the degree must have been awarded within 5 years before the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 29th September 2020 – the date taken into account is the date of the issue of the diploma)
In addition, applicants that selected the pathway with a first year at the University of Granada or the University of Liège AND a second year specialisation in Health Promotion and Prevention at EHESP or at the University of Granada, do not have to provide an English test if they hold a previous higher education degree fully taught in English in any country.
SPANISH
Language requirements for candidates going to Granada in Y1 or Y2
A B2 level in Spanish (CEFR table) is required for the 1st year foundation course in Granada or for the 2nd year specialisation in “Health Services Management”, that is to say:
- DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera)
- SIELE (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de Lengua Española)
The date of the test must be less than 3 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 1st September 2022 – the date taken into account is the date of the test, not the date of receipt of the results).
Candidates exempted from providing a Spanish test
Applicants do not have to provide any Spanish language test in two cases only:
- if they are citizens of a majority native Spanish-speaking country: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.
- if their secondary or higher education was conducted in Spanishin any country. Please note that phone or online interviews may be organized to check your Spanish language level.
Any applicant who does not meet either of the two above-mentioned conditions must provide proof of Spanish proficiency complying with the minimum admission requirements.
FRENCH
Language requirements for candidates going to Liège in Y1 and Health Promotion and Prevention (Rennes) in Y2
A B2 Level in French (CEFR table) is mandatory for the first-year foundation course at the University of Liege (Belgium), the 2nd year specialization in “Health Promotion and Prevention” (Rennes – France), that is to say:
- DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française): B2 level – No limit date since the test is delivered for life.
- DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française): C1 et C2 level – No limit date since the test is delivered for life.
- TCF DAP or TCF Tout public (Test de connaissance du français) 400-499 or more – The date of the test must be less than 2 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 1st September 2023).
- TEF (Test d’Evaluation du Français) 400-499 or more – The date of the test must be less than 2 years old at the beginning of the course (i.e. no older than 1st September 2023).
Candidates exempted from providing a French test
Applicants do not have to provide any French language test in the following cases only:
- If they are citizens of a majority native French-speaking country: Bénin, Burkina Faso, Congo – Brazzaville, Côte d’Ivoire, France, Gabon, Guinée – Conakry, Mali, Monaco, Niger, République Démocratique du Congo, Sénégal, Togo.
- If their secondary or higher education was conducted in French in any country.
Any applicant who does not meet either of the two above-mentioned conditions must provide proof of French proficiency complying with the minimum admission requirements.

We advise you to book a place for the language test(s) required as soon as possible. Certain locations may have limited availability of dates that align with the prescribed application deadlines for our Master’s Programme.
List of documents to provide
Documents to submit at application stage
- A copy of a valid passport (for Non-European students), valid passport or ID card (for European students).
- Curriculum Vitae (Europass format preferred).
- Motivation letter (600 words max. – in English).
- Certified true copies of previous higher education degrees (a bachelor’s degree being the minimum requirement) with the diploma supplement if available, and the official or sworn English translation.
- Official transcripts and mark sheets in English (or official/sworn English translations if the language of the original document is different) from all higher education institutions attended.
- Evidence of language proficiency, in accordance with the chosen pathway (see detailed requirements above).
- Two forms of recommendation (to be filled in by your referees).
- A proof of your current place of residence at the time of enrolment (a residence certificate issued in accordance with your normal municipality registration rules, or a certificate from your place of work, study or training issued by the employer or institution in question, or a telephone, internet, electricity bill, or housing invoice. Provided documents must be in English (or official/sworn English translation) and show both your CITY and COUNTRY of residence. They must have been issued within a period of 12 months before the deadline of applications.
Additional documents are to be provided by applicants who choose the University of Liege (Belgium) for their 1st year:
- a copy of high school certificate (diploma) with an official/sworn translation in French or in English.
- Year by year official documents for the past 5 years, if they are not covered by the last diploma (studies, (un)employment certificate…). The activities having lasted at least 3 months only must be justified. You don’t need to justify sabbatical periods.
Additional requirements for selected students
Once you have confirmed your enrolment in the Europubhealth+ programme, the University of Granada will ask you to provide:
- If you are a Non-European student: a copy and the original of your University Degree legalized either by the Hague Apostille or by the Spanish Embassy in your home country. If the Degree is issued in a language different from English, French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, you will also have to provide an official/sworn translation into English.

Once you have confirmed your enrolment in the Europubhealth+ programme, the University of Liege will ask you to provide:

- If you are a Non-European student: A funding plan to show your financial capability (10.000 EUR / year). It can be shown via a scholarship certificate or another means of financial capability (if you were selected to join the Europubhealth+ programme as a self-funded student).

Once you have confirmed your enrolment in the Europubhealth+ programme, the University of Sheffield will ask you to provide
- Official authenticated English translations if any of your certificates or transcripts have been issued in a language other than English.
- Access to your previous university’s online verification service. If your university does not have an online verification service, we will need clear colour photographs or scans of your original qualification documents.
- Confirmation that your institution is fully accredited and authorised to award bachelor degrees if we are unable to access this information via national accreditation bodies. Degrees awarded by institutions in Nigeria will be checked against the list published by the National Universities Commission (NUC), and degrees awarded by institutions in Ghana will be checked against the list published by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
